The author's husband is what drove me. He put his entire faith and trust into his wife knowing that she would take care of him. That he would be okay. Never showing his doubt for her love and care for him. I'm honestly amazed by him. Faith, love and hope is what he had.

I had the incredible experience of encountering Tai and VIncent as a professional nurse. Tai not only understood the concept of patient centered care, she demanded that her husband and their family receive it. Her bold stance in obtaining information, including her husband in every healthcare decision, and challenging any medication or procedure she was uncomfortable with was a much needed disruption in the status quo. Tai fearlessly advocated for her husband and became a valued member of the patient centered health care team. As her husband Vincent fought for his life, Tai fought at the bedside demanding more of the healthcare team than we knew we could to give. Tai and Vincent forged a new perspective in my personal nursing experience. What a great book! Tai and Vincent's strong relationship throughout the book is so admirable! Every acutely ill patient needs a 'warrior' like Tai Thomas as their medical advocate! I have been a nurse for over twenty years and I have a personal experience with having to be one myself. We should all read this book, as she walks you through how she did it while managing to be a good wife, mother and daughter. This lesson is imperative to learn if you care about your loved ones and can be there for them if they need a 'warrior'.

I was hooked from the first page. This was quite an emotional read. I was in awe of Taiessa and her resilience throughout this unfortunate situation. The digital download 23-Step Guide to the Book Writing Process was as easy as they come when it comes to a guide on the book writing process. Simple to follow, to the point, and does half the work for you. All I had to do was choose from the list that was given in the guide on which editor, book designer, and book illustrator websites that I wanted to hire and go from there. I would've definitely become frustrated if I had to figure out, by myself, where I needed to start and what I needed to know. A true relief!

Tai Thomas has written such a compassionate and direct book; focusing on her husband and her young son during her husband's severe health crisis - Guilaín-Barré Syndrome - just a year and three months after they were newly married. The focused laser-like vision that she had when making snap decisions for her husband's care was truly amazing. Her foresight to head-off potential health problems is what kept her husband alive and spiritually happy throughout his healing. Every page had me eagerly wanting to turn the next page.

A deep and clear testament of this couple's love for each other. Although Vince could not express his emotions or needs, due to his inability to speak because of his tracheotomy and full body paralysis, Tai was his voice bearer. As his wife, she did everything for him without delayed thought or hesitation to getting his needs accomplished. Words cannot fully express the intense emotional, spiritual, and mental connection that existed between this couple before and during this unbelievable trying time in their marriage. The vivid minute details written down, page-by-page, of how their relationship was with each other, one can only be admired. Amazing.

I read "An Interruption in Time" once, sat in my chair and I had to read it again. There were so many moving parts in this book that were continually connecting to each other, that I had to read it again to get the full appreciation for this author's Being. Although the book mostly centered around her husband's acute illness during his very lengthy hospital stay, her love of family jumped at me the most. As a woman who also loves and admires her own parents, it was very emotional for me to read about her great love and admiration for her parents and various family relatives. How they shaped her Being was truly incredible! Such a strong, loving, and compassionate woman! What an incredible book!

I would close the book and close my eyes and just reminisce about that first day when Vincent fell. I can do that because I was there. I witnessed this life-changing moment in their lives. So many topics. I couldn't put it down. What captured me the most was her upbringing. The way she intertwined her parents influence on her, throughout the book, was very inspiring. Coming from a different country and her parents adopting her at such a young age, I never got the sense, as I was reading it, that being adopted had a negative impact on her life. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The relationship between the author and her parents was nothing short of loving and nurturing. Utilizing her parents ways and teachings definitely helped the author in her path with assisting in the healing of her husband and the consistant positive emotional balance that she exhibited with their young son's well-being, throughout this timultuis time. Being adopted myself, this book touched me personally. I encourage everyone to purchase this book and read it. WOW!

This book was in one word - Amazing. I've known the author by way of her husband for a few years. I knew what happened to them when he was in the hospital, but I had no idea that this book would touch on more than just the hospital event. How ignorant of me. I am truly amazed by my friend's wife and of her deep connection that she has with her nucleus family, her external family and particularly her parents. Reading this connection with her parents and merely just watching and embracing their ways, from adolescence to adulthood, is at the core of her being. To have heard about her mentality in the hospital is one thing, but to actually read it on paper is something completely different. Tai vividly talks about everything in her life that showed me who she was and is as a person and how she came to be as a woman. My emotions - smiling to crying and back to smiling - were so all over the place, nonstop. A phenomenal book!

As ordinary or extraordinary people, we automatically think and truly believe that only medicine will heal us. We temporarily change our diet, lifestyle, and try to be positive, but we do it for the timed purpose. This was not the case with the author...his wife, his confidant, his soldier.
The author, from the very beginning of her husband's hospital stay, maintained a straightforward, no-holds bar, positive mentality that she cocooned her husband with, when he was suddenly stricken with Guillain-Barrè Syndrome.
Everybody that came in contact with her husband, from day one, knew they had to present this exact same mentality. The author did not waver in her belief. She knew the significant value of her husband having a calming mind, worry-free spirit atmosphere when it came to his arduous healing. A true soldier and advocate indeed.
