Taiessa Thomas

Founder | Transitional Care & Caregiver Support Strategist
Taiessa Thomas is the Founder of 7 Ways of Thinking: Patient, Spouse & Caregiver, a platform dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating some of life’s most critical health challenges.
Her work is rooted in lived experience. After facing a sudden and life-altering health crisis alongside her husband, Taiessa was thrust into the roles of patient advocate, caregiver, and decision-maker—often all at once. Through that journey, she gained firsthand insight into the emotional, physical, and logistical challenges that come with transitioning from hospital or healthcare facilities back to home.
Today, Taiessa uses that experience to guide others.
Through 7 Ways of Thinking, she helps patients, spouses, and caregivers navigate the transition from hospital to home with clarity, structure, and confidence. Her approach focuses on bridging the gap between medical care and everyday living—ensuring families are better prepared, better informed, and better supported during recovery.
Her work includes:
  • Hospital-to-home transition guidance
  • Caregiver support and education
  • Patient advocacy and communication strategies
  • Wellness and lifestyle alignment for recovery
Taiessa is also the co-author of An Interruption in Time – A Chronicle of Life and Death, a powerful account of navigating a sudden health crisis and the realities of caregiving, resilience, and survival. Her story continues to inspire and inform the work she does today.
At the core of her mission is a simple belief:
No patient or caregiver should have to navigate the healthcare journey alone.
